Radium girls: contemporary aerial hoop

This act tells the story of the radium girls. In 1920's a factory in US advertised a job for young girls painting the dials of alarm clocks with a luminous paint. The girls were instructed to dip the paint brushes in their mouths. The paint however was deadly when swallowed which lead to many of the girls dying of led poisoning. The girls' dream of financial independence turned into deadly wish.
